Our Mission: To foster opportunities so that each individual with a developmental disability in Taney County can reach his/her own maximum level of potential.

Board members are appointed by the Taney County Commission to three-year terms of service after extensive advertisement, recruitment and screening of interested persons. The Board is charged with the responsibility of developing and supporting those services necessary to enable county residents with developmental disabilities to each their full potential in self-sufficiency and independence.

Developmental Connections, formerly known as the Taney County Board for the Developmentally Disabled, was formed under the authority of Section 205.968-972 RSMo by the Taney County Commission on April 20, 1981. The Board is a political sub-division of the county, empowered to collect a county-wide property tax for the establishment and/or operation of a sheltered workshop, residential facilities and/or related services for the care or employment of Taney County residents with developmental disabilities.

The Board of Directors meets at least ten times per year. Meetings are scheduled for the second Thursday of the month from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and are held in a publicly accessible location. Notices of meetings are posted in the Board's Administrative Office at 1533 East State Hwy 76 in Branson.
