Developmental Connections Board Of Directors Board members are appointed by the County Commission to three-year terms of service after extensive advertisement and recruitment of interested persons. The Board is charged with the responsibility of developing and supporting those services necessary to enable county residents with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential in self-sufficiency and independence. State law requires that only two of the Board members must related to persons with developmental disabilities. The points of view of parents and close family members are, however, the key ingredients for local services that are responsive to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities.
